Teen Mental Health

The teen years are a time of tremendous mental, physical, emotional, social, and academic change.  Parents often struggle to support their children at this stage and can get stuck. Fluctuations in mood are normal, but if teens are doing poorly in school, struggling to make or keep friends, experiencing frequent “meltdowns.” feeling overwhelmed by emotions, experiencing worry or panic that is getting in the way of their daily lives, isolating, crying often, having thoughts of hurting themselves, or engaging in risky behaviors, there may be problems beyond what they are capable of managing on their own.
